Hymn Of Faith: GOD Is Able To Deliver

There is a hymn that we sing, He Is Able To Deliver Thee, and of course, the question is, do you believe that GOD is able to deliver thee? Do you even know what you need deliverance from? When being challenged by their captor, King Nebuchadnezzar, three of the Jewish men refused to bow down to the king's man-made idol. At the threat of death, the men still would not bow, but instead spoke to the king:
(Daniel 3:16 King James) Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter.
(Daniel 3:17 King James) If it be so , our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.
(Daniel 3:18 King James) But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.

Through the LORD JESUS CHRIST, our GOD is able to deliver us. It may not be from the fiery burning furnace, but HE is able to deliver us, regardless.
Make a note of this: those three Jewish men, were willing to die for GOD. They were willing to let GOD slay them because even in death, they knew that GOD is still able to deliver. Those who trust in JESUS CHRIST for salvation believe in HIM not simply as SAVIOUR, but as HE who will raise us all up when HE returns for the church, giving us new bodies!
(1 Corinthians 15:49 King James) And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
(1 Corinthians 15:51 King James) Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
(1 Corinthians 15:52 King James) In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
(1 Corinthians 15:53 King James) For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
(1 Corinthians 15:54 King James) So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

      Want more?
(Philippians 3:20 King James) For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:
(Philippians 3:21 King James) Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

Hymn Theology: Part 2

Hymns today serve a purpose besides being entertainment. In fact, they should not be entertaining at all. Music can be well played. However, it is for the LORD JESUS CHRIST and not ourselves that we are to play. As noted in the previous post by the same title, hymns can and should be instructional. They serve other purposes as well.
One such purpose is in preparing the heart to receive the sermon that is about to be received. JESUS sang the hymn with the disciples, then began giving them the hard facts of what was about to happen.
(Matthew 26:30) And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives.
(Matthew 26:31) Then saith Jesus unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad.
(Matthew 26:32) But after I am risen again, I will go before you into Galilee.
(Matthew 26:33) Peter answered and said unto him, Though all men shall be offended because of thee, yet will I never be offended.
(Matthew 26:34) Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this night, before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice.

The best example of songs with great theology is the Bible's book of Psalms. These were the songs that the Hebrews sang! These things are chock full of theology. Take a look at Psalm 103. Look at the familiar chapter 23. I've written melodies to several portions of scripture, one being Psalms 100.

Hymnal Theology: Part One

On James Dobson's Focus on the Family radio show, a statement was made in reference to how easy it is for many Christians to believe what the novel, The DaVinci Code teaches. Why is this so? Why do so many professing Christians (and many non-Christians, too) believe what that book of historical fiction says? Kevin's Komment: the book should be referenced as hysterical fiction! The guest (whoever he was) said that modern churches do not have THEOLOGY in their hymns that the old hymnbooks do. This is what contributes to the easy belief of the "code." I'm not focusing this article on the novel, but on our hymnbooks.
I've visited a few churches away from my home church. Many times, they practiced congregational singing by memorizing easy choruses, or perhaps had a view-screen with which to display the lyrics as they sang. More often than not, they had a band playing live music, some of whom made it plain that they were there to entertain. I've often noticed that this display of musicianship and words seems to be a little trite. After about 5 rounds of "Praise the LORD for HE is great" and "Our GOD is an awesome GOD", its obvious that something is missing.
What is missing, you ask? Where's the blood that was shed for you and me? Where's the song that not only teaches that the blood of JESUS is shed, but also WHY we need the blood? (see Romans 5.6; 3.23, John 3.16; 1 Peter 1.18-23) How about the songs that do praise the LORD, but glorify HIM for not only CREATION itself, but also for taking the time to die on Calvary's Cross, to do what no other can do: provide an Atonement (covering) for my sins and your sins?
That's not all! Many songs teach us that we are to preach and witness for the LORD JESUS CHRIST, songs that remind us to pray and seek after the face of GOD, daily. Songs that point us to JESUS, not just as Saviour, not just as the Redeemer, not just as the Creator, but songs that point to HIM because HE cares for us! (examples: Does Jesus Care; Noone Ever Cared For Me Like JESUS).
I'm not saying that the old hymnals are inspired in the same way that the Bible is (Kevin's Komment: specifically, the King James/Authorized Version) There is, however, much to be gained for those who have access to a good Bible-doctrinally based hymnal. On the other hand, if all you get is twenty minutes or so of hopping around and waving your arms in the air while shouting Hallejah, I believe that you will go home well excercised, but missing out on something vital.
     More next time!

Jay Seculow Comment On Marriage

www.aclj.com
On his radio show on (or about) June 6, 2006, he made the following statement.
"...church was in charge of determining the defn of marriage..." and that it was not the job of the courts to determine.

Actually, GOD instituted marriage and therefore, HE and HIS WORD determines the definition. Not man, and certainly not the church, despite what the Pope may think or teach (or demand)

Remember, in Genesis 2, God created Adam. Then HE put Adam to sleep and created Eve from his rib. That's not the end of the story, though. God then brought the bride to Adam. There are two things I'd like to mention:

First, GOD HIMSELF was involved in the creation of Adam and Eve. HE was also involved in their marriage, instituting it at this time. JESUS spoke of this first institution saying, that what GOD hath joined together, let no man put asunder. Secondly, just like GOD introduced the bride to the groom, one of these days, the Bride of CHRIST shall be introduced to the GROOM, the LORD JESUS CHRIST. That's what marriage is about. It is representation of the time when those who trust JESUS as their Saviour will spend eternity with HIM, because what/who GOD hath put together, let no man put asunder. No man, no creature, no event, not even death can separate us from the love of GOD once we are HIS. Read Romans 8 and John 10.

So, GOD instituted marriage, not the church. Therefore it is not the church's job to decide what a marriage is. It has already been decided. God means for marriage to be permanent. Permanent, just like our state of salvation. Once we belong to GOD, we belong to GOD! Never to be removed from HIM. Finally, the church is the Bride of CHRIST, and will one day be introduced to HIM when HE comes for it. What a day that will be!!

Isn't It Glovely (How A CHRISTian Is Like A Glove)

The glove is lifeless
Flat and empty, dead. Only good for the fire!
(Ephesians 2:1) And you hath he quickened , who were dead in trespasses and sins;

We are each & everyone of us dead. From the time we we are conceived to the time we are born and beyond, we are dead. We are dead men walking because we are sinners. We are dead in trespasses & sins. All of us.

(Psalms 51:5) Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.; (Romans 5:12) Wherefore, as by one man [Kevin's Komment: Adam] sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:;

The glove can be filled

Rom 5.12 speaks of the "first man", Adam, from whom we are all sinners. Yet, there is a "second man," the LORD JESUS CHRIST. HE can take away, or cover, or cleanse our "trespasses and sins" which cause us to be dead.
(Ephesians 2:4) But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
(Ephesians 2:5) Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
(Ephesians 2:6) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

Like a building fitly joined together
(Ephesians 4:16) From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

Why Do We Believe What We Believe?

Institute For Creation Research

Introducing ICR

The Institute For Creation Research (ICR) mails out and maintains online a monthly news magazine called Acts & Facts. The 8-pages cover the gamut of the front-cover article on some Creationist topic, be it a new book being rolled out, introducing a new member of the school faculty, a radio log listing the upcoming month's topics, and a few other things. Page 5 of the June 2006 issue (Vol.35, No. 6) contains the monthly segment, Meeting Hightlights.

The portion of Meeting Hightlights I want to address falls under the subheading of "Northern California Looop Tour a Success!"

The Urging Emerging Belief System

(1 Peter 3:15) But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

     Zoologist Frank Sherwin

"...spoke at several Christian schools, urging the young people to know why they believe what they believe."
Following this was a short list of items that his outline included. However the statement quoted above from Mr. Sherwin is what got me thinking: If the CHRISTian is to be ready to always give an answer, shouldn't the same apply to the evolutionist or nonChristian? Its a question that hardly needs asked because the answer boils down rather simply.

Why Does The Evolutionist or nonChristian Believe What They Believe?

They believe that if there is no GOD, then they will never be responsible for the eternal decisions made while here on earth. In other words, do what you want today, because there is no judgement in the future. Tertiarily, if there is no GOD, then it is up to them to decide whether to steal or not, because it may be for the greater good, or stealing may really help whatever desire needs to fulfilled at the moment. You can insert any sin into that last sentence.

It turns out, though, that the WORD OF GOD is very careful to point out that man needs a Saviour. We are all sinners. Romans 3.23 Each and every last one of us, no matter where they are or their rank or living conditions. As sinners, we are condemned to die, spending eternity in the Lake of Fire. Romans 6.23; Rev 20.15 But GOD sent HIS only Begotten Son that whosoever believeth in HIM should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3.16) Everlasting life is the same thing as saying, everlasting life. Look at Rom 6.23 again: everlasting life is the gift of GOD, and it removes us from the final Great White Throne of Judgement mentioned in the last verses of Rev 20.

Either, we have the Word of God, or we do not!

Either, we have the Word of God, or we do not!

That statement is one that I make to my friends at work and to my Sunday School class quite often. To my friends, because there is at least one who likes to argue that all translations of the Bible are valid and that there are books that should have been included but were not. Books like the Gospel of Thomas or the Gospel of Philip.

The Bible, specifically the King James Bible, makes it abundantly clear that GOD's Word is special, not to be added to or taken from. It is special, and is to be obeyed as the ultimate voice of authority. It is special, because it is inspired by none other than GOD Himself.

Either, we have the Word of God, or we do not! If we do not, no other book of relligion will be able to help us or save us. If we do not, no other book can promise us joy, and eternal life with the same authority as the Bible.

Either, we have the Word of God, or we do not! In fact, if the Bible and every doctrine within were to disappear, there would be no need for religion whatsoever on the planet. Also, the world would only be in chaos, and would soon see the demise of itself.

Learn The Bible, Part 2: Why Blog?

Still investigating the web site, Learn The Bible (LTB), I discovered they have their own blog!

Need For Blog?

Why should such a full-content site need a blog? A review of the blogs gives a little insight.

[Kevin's Komment: Actually, reviewing the blogs gives you much insight that is Biblically based].
There is a difference between the content of LTB's feature articles, news, sermons/audio files and the LTB blog. That difference is shown in the small tidbits of information for each posting. These bite-size morsels are quick to read, but not necessarily easy to digest. Food for thought, they are. This means you must think about them, decide for yourself the answer to some questions.

  • Is this true? Does this answer come out of the Bible?

  • Is this only the opinion of the writer, or is it truth based on the Word Of God?

They are quick to read because they are only a short paragraph or two. That quick to read morsel is followed by the slow digestion part: most of the entries I surveyed offer more than opinion, but something to think about.Chew slowly on some of these entries. Even if they are written hastily, they don't give the appearance of doing so. There is something to be learned or applied in many of the entries. In other blog entries, you'll be able to focus on certain words or phrases for further study. More on that at a later date.

Here is a good example. The May 31, 2006, Creation Marked by Number Three entry regarding how the 3-fold nature of GOD is repeatedly shown in nature and in man. Pastor Reagan, the most prominent of authors that I've seen on the LTB site, points out that GOD HIMSELF is 3-fold in the FATHER, SON and HOLY GHOST. This is compared to the fact there are three light emitting entities in the universe: the sun, the moon, the stars.

Kevin's Komment, not found on the LTB website, as far as I know:
The lights of heaven (or space if you will, exhibit characteristics of Biblical things that we know. For instance, The sun could represent GOD, and the moon, which only reflects light from the sun, represents CHRISTians, who are to reflect GOD, specifically, GOD THE SON, the LORD JESUS CHRIST. Remember, it was in the book of Acts that the followers of JESUS were first called 'CHRISTians.' Why? Because they so closely associated themselves with HIM and loved each other, that there was no doubt in the minds of the people: that these men had been with JESUS.

Within this same entry, there are other great references for digesting. For example, "there are three kinds of vegetation: grass, herbs and trees (Genesis 1:11)." This is all food for thought, especially considering that the Word Of God is Bread for the soul! If you think about it, you may even be able to break those three down into three component groups. Like, tree's have roots, branches and leaves.

In keeping with the example set forth by LTB, I'll be signing off now and not let this article go on too long. If things have worked out correctly, there is a link on the right side of this page to the LTB web site.

Website Favorites - Part One: LEARN THE BIBLE (LTB)

www.learnthebible.org

General

Some internet sites have a lot of information, not very well organized. Some sites have great organization, but are lacking in useful information. Perhaps the site looks great because of the excellent web-page design, but content leaves much to be desired. Stil yet, there are web sites that are designed to be well pleasing to the eye and have marvelous content, containing great articles, perhaps some multimedia to download.

Learn The Bibleis one such web sight that is very well set up. Of course, I say this because it does not contain a lot of flashy foolishness (or a lot of FLASH content, if any). As one who uses a dial up internet connection, a lot of bells and whistles and auto-playing MIDI and Quicktime files tend to really slow my computer down. However, the main page of this site shows you the main categories that you can choose from: Creation Science, Baptist Origins, Cults. There is a menu bar at the top. I won't go over all the details of the site, but will just touch on a couple of my favorite features.

Feature Favorites

Subscribe To Email Newsletter

First, the email newsletter comes on a weekly basis, sometimes less often. This means that it is not flooding your inbox on a daily basis. This is good if you have a fairly busy life but want to get a little extra Bible study time in. The key features of the email newsletter is that it covers a certain portion of scripture. Fill-in-the-blank statements are given that help you to lookat the scripture and evaluate what it says. This section is followed by another that looks at the scripture, and the fill-in-the-blank statements to discover the meaning of the passage. For

For further study, there are generally links given in the various sections that are related to other articles on Learn The Bible .

The very last section of the email is the complete King James Version (KJV) of the passage for pondering. I suppose that it is there in case you do not have immediate access to a Bible, whether physical or virtual. Whatever the reason href="www.learnthebible.org">Learn The Bible puts it there, it is useful for a couple of reasons.

  1. Print it out and put in your own notes and markings.

  2. Copy and paste the passage (or any part of the email) into a word processor for further editing by highlighting, underlining, making your own comments, etc.

Questions and Answers

This is a very interesting section as Pastor Regan and a few others answer Bible related questions. They clear up a few misconceptions, explain things that are difficult to understand, and cover the gamut of all kinds of other questions that may not be about Bble content, but in relation to just Bible topics in general. If that doesn't make sense, try looking at the following link. Its not really about a regular KJV content question, but one of the many study Bibles available.
LTB: Dake Study Bible Question and Answer

Outlines With Sermon Audio

This area of LTB contains some audio sermons in the MP3 format. One cool creature feature here is that not only do you have the option of listening online, but you can choose to download the MP3 for later listening. Now this is a real blessing for those of us on pokey-slow dial up. Not only that, but a triple cool creature feature is that most of the sermons come with an outline for printing or saving. Cool, huh?

The End, for now.

James Kennedy Made A Mistake

On the May 24, 25 2006 Truths That Transform radio show, the guest made a few verbal blunders that bother me. I don't know who the guest was, where he was from, because I'm usually trying to listen while I work. Therefore, my attention is more on my job than the radio. However, the man did say some things that caused my ears to ring like an out-of-tune piano.

His agenda was in preaching that the armed forces today are young Mall-Rat-recently-became-Christian men and women are very CHRISTIAN-like in the behaviour while in the Army (or whatever force they are in).

Here are the things he said that bothered me:

The NIV Bible

He read out of the NIV, calling it the New Inspired Version. I call it the New International Perversion because it is a perversion of the WORD OF GOD. There is a myriad of problems with the NIV. One is that it removes entire verses of scripture. Matthew 18.11 is a key verse of scripture. It describes the mission of the LORD JESUS CHRIST. It is missing from the NIV. No! There is nothing inspired about the NIV bible, nor any of its siblings (NKJV, NCV, RSV, NASB, etc.).

Filthy Language

He mentioned the filthy language of these men as they prayed. In speaking with one soldier, the soldier said that all he wanted to do was find "his *&^#% place in the *&^#% will of GOD!" He made a comment that their "faith is raw." Another comment, (I paraphrase here a little) was that we can make them proper Christians after they return home. I have one answer for that kind of sentiment. Even a lost sinner knows that GOD is holy and filthy language has no place in the life of a CHRISTian.
(1 Peter 1:15) But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;

Would be a very good idea for these young Christians to read about Gen. G. Washington's statements regarding his army and the language he allowed them to use. He gave careful and extensive instructions on the verbal behaviour of the men in the revolutionary army. If I can find an excerpt of this document/speech, I'll add it to this post.

Is JESUS God?

Is JESUS GOD?

John 10:   text verse is 33

25 Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father’s name, they bear witness of me.

26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.

27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.

30 I and my Father are one.

31 Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.

32 Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?

33 The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.

---

John 14:8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.

John 14:9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou [then], Shew us the Father?

John 14:10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

John 14:11 Believe me that I [am] in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake.

John 14:12 ¶ Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater [works] than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

---

Galatians 4:4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,

Genesis 22:8 And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.

John 12:44 ¶ Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me.

John 12:45 And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me.

Speaking of JESUS, Apostle Paul writes:

Colossians 1:14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, [even] the forgiveness of sins:

Colossians 1:15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn
of every creature:

---

GOD had promised a Saviour to the OT saints. That Saviour had to come bodily
in order 2 b the Lamb of GOD, sacrificed and wounded for our
transgressions/sins.

1 John 2:21 I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth.

1 John 2:22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the
Son
.

1 John 2:23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: [(but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father
also
].

1 John 2:24 Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.

1 John 2:25 And this is the promise that he hath promised us, [even] eternal
life
.

It took JESUS, and HIM only, to die for our sins, & resurrect on the 3rd
day. Contrary to the teaching of the cults and any other false religion, there
are not many christ's, but only one CHRIST: the LORD JESUS CHRIST. HE is
GOD HIMSELF "manifest" in the flesh." Noone else has died for our
sins, other religious leaders have died but they are still dead.

---

This is my favorite one, yet. Compare these 3 verses!

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

1 John 3:16 Hereby perceive we the love [of God], because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down [our] lives for the brethren.

1 Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

It is no accident these 3 verses are connected by more than the 3 reference
#s of "3:16"

---

Jude 1:4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness and denying the
only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ

The underlined portion of above is not referencing two god's, but One GOD.
Note the  little word and.  It is not a statement of person 1
and person 2. It is an EQUALITY. The only LORD GOD equals our LORD JESUS CHRIST.
See John 10.33.

---

The GOOD SHEPHERD

Compare Psa 23.1 & John 10, where JESUS refers 2 HIMSELF as the Good
Shepherd.

Psalms 23:1 ¶ <<A Psalm of David.>> The LORD [is] my shepherd; I shall not want.

John 10:14 I am the good shepherd, and know my [sheep], and am known of mine.

John 10:15 As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.

John 10:16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, [and] one shepherd.

---

Psalms 62:2 He only is my rock and
my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.

If GOD alone is our rock and salvation
and defence, why do the following verses speak of JESUS in the same way?.....

John 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only
true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

1 Timothy 6:15 Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and
only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;

1 Timothy 6:16 Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no
man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and
power everlasting. Amen.

Revelation 15:4 Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for
thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy
judgments are made manifest.

...because, HE is GOD! GOD the SON.

Remember, there is only One GOD:

Deuteronomy 6:4 ¶ Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God [is] one LORD:

Deuteronomy 4:35 Unto thee it was shewed, that thou mightest know that the
LORD he [is] God; [there is] none else beside him.

Isaiah 30:15 For thus saith the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In
returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be
your strength: and ye would not.

Isaiah 43:3 For I [am] the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy
Saviour: I gave Egypt [for] thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee.

Isaiah 48:17 Thus saith the LORD, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel;
I [am] the LORD thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the
way [that] thou shouldest go.

Isaiah 54:5 For thy Maker [is] thine husband; the LORD of hosts [is] his name;
and thy Redeemer the Holy
One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called.

Isaiah 55:5 Behold, thou shalt call a nation [that] thou knowest not, and
nations [that] knew not thee shall run unto thee because of the LORD thy God,
and for the Holy
One of Israel; for he hath glorified thee.

Judgment Day

Romans 14:10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for
we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.

Romans 14:11 For it is written, [As] I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.

Romans 14:12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.

v10. We shall stand b4 the judgment seat of CHRIST. v12. We shall give
account of ourselves to GOD. Translation? JESUS is GOD.

The Worship of GOD.

If GOD is one GOD, then what would have happened if JESUS was not
God, yet accepted the worship of others? 1st, God the Father would not have
said, "This is my beloved Son, in Whom I am well pleased." Then,
things would have gotten worse for HIM and HIS worshippers from there.

Yet, we find that JESUS is worshipped throughout the NT and into all
eternity! This worship occurs because the LORD my GOD is ONE GOD.

Matthew 9:18 ¶ While he spake these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live.

Matthew 9:19 And Jesus arose, and followed him, and [so did] his disciples.

This & other verses, JESUS did not stop folk from worshipping HIM.

Some more:

John 9:35 ¶ Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God?

John 9:36 He answered and said, Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him?

John 9:37 And Jesus said unto him, Thou hast both seen him, and it is he that talketh with thee.

John 9:38 And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him.

Couple of quick jokes

Q Who was the greatest male financier in the Bible?
A Noah! He was floating his stock while everyone else was in liquidation!

Q Who was the greatest female financier in the Bible?
A Pharoah's daughter. She went down to the bank of the Nile and drew out a little prophet.

The Diabetic Christian

Just a thought, sparked by something I heard on the radio today.

Seems like a lot of people do not believe that GOD will eternally punish the sinner. GOD IS SO GOOD, what punishment will HE dole out? I think they are so used to hearing preachers and teachers speak on the love of GOD, so much so, that they have way too much spiritual sugar in their diet. Hence, the name of this article, The Diabetic Christian. While the Bible does say, "GOD is love", we forget that GOD is also a consuming fire. That is a quote from both the Old Testament and the New. Over and over, from Genesis to Revelation, there is the promise of coming Judgment to the wicked. It is a promise of everlasting punishment.

That Judgment can only be overcome by GOD's love. GOD freely gives life, eternal life, to any who will willingly accept it and repent and believe on His only begotten Son, the LORD JESUS CHRIST. Read all of 2 Peter chapters 2 & 3, then read the 1st 18 verses of John chptr 3.

GOD is love, especially to those who put their trust, complete trust in HIM.

Resurrection Morning Sunday School

My post today is just an intro how I plan tomorrow's Sunday School lesson.
Lesson Idea
My Sunday School class of 8-10 year olds is a mixture of boys and girls. A few of them really know something about the Word of God, but most have very little knowledge because noone has ever trained them at home. Additionally, most do not have a love of reading the Bible, or anything else it seems. One of my plans is to get the Word of God to them and into them. Since they don't like to read on their own, I'm going to at least help them memorize scripture.

As an aide in memorizing, I'm gonna use 4x6 index cards. I've written 2 Peter 3:9, one word per card onto 3 sets of cards. There are 3 tables in the classroom, so each table will get a set. They will race to see which table can get their shuffled set of cards N2 the correct order for the verse. Then, they will attempt the same thing, without having Bibles open. We'll then practice saying the verse out loud followed by a discussion of what this verse means to them and how the LORD intends for it to mean.

Lets see how it goes...
