Isn't It Glovely (How A CHRISTian Is Like A Glove)

The glove is lifeless
Flat and empty, dead. Only good for the fire!
(Ephesians 2:1) And you hath he quickened , who were dead in trespasses and sins;

We are each & everyone of us dead. From the time we we are conceived to the time we are born and beyond, we are dead. We are dead men walking because we are sinners. We are dead in trespasses & sins. All of us.

(Psalms 51:5) Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.; (Romans 5:12) Wherefore, as by one man [Kevin's Komment: Adam] sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:;

The glove can be filled

Rom 5.12 speaks of the "first man", Adam, from whom we are all sinners. Yet, there is a "second man," the LORD JESUS CHRIST. HE can take away, or cover, or cleanse our "trespasses and sins" which cause us to be dead.
(Ephesians 2:4) But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
(Ephesians 2:5) Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
(Ephesians 2:6) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

It Fits

Like a building fitly joined together
(Ephesians 4:16) From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

Why Do We Believe What We Believe?

Institute For Creation Research

Introducing ICR

The Institute For Creation Research (ICR) mails out and maintains online a monthly news magazine called Acts & Facts. The 8-pages cover the gamut of the front-cover article on some Creationist topic, be it a new book being rolled out, introducing a new member of the school faculty, a radio log listing the upcoming month's topics, and a few other things. Page 5 of the June 2006 issue (Vol.35, No. 6) contains the monthly segment, Meeting Hightlights.

The portion of Meeting Hightlights I want to address falls under the subheading of "Northern California Looop Tour a Success!"

The Urging Emerging Belief System

(1 Peter 3:15) But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

     Zoologist Frank Sherwin

"...spoke at several Christian schools, urging the young people to know why they believe what they believe."
Following this was a short list of items that his outline included. However the statement quoted above from Mr. Sherwin is what got me thinking: If the CHRISTian is to be ready to always give an answer, shouldn't the same apply to the evolutionist or nonChristian? Its a question that hardly needs asked because the answer boils down rather simply.

Why Does The Evolutionist or nonChristian Believe What They Believe?

They believe that if there is no GOD, then they will never be responsible for the eternal decisions made while here on earth. In other words, do what you want today, because there is no judgement in the future. Tertiarily, if there is no GOD, then it is up to them to decide whether to steal or not, because it may be for the greater good, or stealing may really help whatever desire needs to fulfilled at the moment. You can insert any sin into that last sentence.

It turns out, though, that the WORD OF GOD is very careful to point out that man needs a Saviour. We are all sinners. Romans 3.23 Each and every last one of us, no matter where they are or their rank or living conditions. As sinners, we are condemned to die, spending eternity in the Lake of Fire. Romans 6.23; Rev 20.15 But GOD sent HIS only Begotten Son that whosoever believeth in HIM should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3.16) Everlasting life is the same thing as saying, everlasting life. Look at Rom 6.23 again: everlasting life is the gift of GOD, and it removes us from the final Great White Throne of Judgement mentioned in the last verses of Rev 20.

Either, we have the Word of God, or we do not!

Either, we have the Word of God, or we do not!

That statement is one that I make to my friends at work and to my Sunday School class quite often. To my friends, because there is at least one who likes to argue that all translations of the Bible are valid and that there are books that should have been included but were not. Books like the Gospel of Thomas or the Gospel of Philip.

The Bible, specifically the King James Bible, makes it abundantly clear that GOD's Word is special, not to be added to or taken from. It is special, and is to be obeyed as the ultimate voice of authority. It is special, because it is inspired by none other than GOD Himself.

Either, we have the Word of God, or we do not! If we do not, no other book of relligion will be able to help us or save us. If we do not, no other book can promise us joy, and eternal life with the same authority as the Bible.

Either, we have the Word of God, or we do not! In fact, if the Bible and every doctrine within were to disappear, there would be no need for religion whatsoever on the planet. Also, the world would only be in chaos, and would soon see the demise of itself.

Learn The Bible, Part 2: Why Blog?

Still investigating the web site, Learn The Bible (LTB), I discovered they have their own blog!

Need For Blog?

Why should such a full-content site need a blog? A review of the blogs gives a little insight.

[Kevin's Komment: Actually, reviewing the blogs gives you much insight that is Biblically based].
There is a difference between the content of LTB's feature articles, news, sermons/audio files and the LTB blog. That difference is shown in the small tidbits of information for each posting. These bite-size morsels are quick to read, but not necessarily easy to digest. Food for thought, they are. This means you must think about them, decide for yourself the answer to some questions.

  • Is this true? Does this answer come out of the Bible?

  • Is this only the opinion of the writer, or is it truth based on the Word Of God?

They are quick to read because they are only a short paragraph or two. That quick to read morsel is followed by the slow digestion part: most of the entries I surveyed offer more than opinion, but something to think about.Chew slowly on some of these entries. Even if they are written hastily, they don't give the appearance of doing so. There is something to be learned or applied in many of the entries. In other blog entries, you'll be able to focus on certain words or phrases for further study. More on that at a later date.

Here is a good example. The May 31, 2006, Creation Marked by Number Three entry regarding how the 3-fold nature of GOD is repeatedly shown in nature and in man. Pastor Reagan, the most prominent of authors that I've seen on the LTB site, points out that GOD HIMSELF is 3-fold in the FATHER, SON and HOLY GHOST. This is compared to the fact there are three light emitting entities in the universe: the sun, the moon, the stars.

Kevin's Komment, not found on the LTB website, as far as I know:
The lights of heaven (or space if you will, exhibit characteristics of Biblical things that we know. For instance, The sun could represent GOD, and the moon, which only reflects light from the sun, represents CHRISTians, who are to reflect GOD, specifically, GOD THE SON, the LORD JESUS CHRIST. Remember, it was in the book of Acts that the followers of JESUS were first called 'CHRISTians.' Why? Because they so closely associated themselves with HIM and loved each other, that there was no doubt in the minds of the people: that these men had been with JESUS.

Within this same entry, there are other great references for digesting. For example, "there are three kinds of vegetation: grass, herbs and trees (Genesis 1:11)." This is all food for thought, especially considering that the Word Of God is Bread for the soul! If you think about it, you may even be able to break those three down into three component groups. Like, tree's have roots, branches and leaves.

In keeping with the example set forth by LTB, I'll be signing off now and not let this article go on too long. If things have worked out correctly, there is a link on the right side of this page to the LTB web site.
